Join Professor Usha Iyer-Raniga from RMIT and other Circular Economy Specialists for the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) Oceania Side Event on Wednesday 7 October commencing at 7:30pm AEDT in understanding Australia’s challenges to transition to circularity.
The Circular Economy (CE) is often viewed as a strategic lens arising from a resource scarcity challenges where access to resources or landfill pose constraints that encourage prudent use of resources. Resource rich nations such as Australia have been considered to be laggards in the uptake of circularity practices. In this panel session, the challenges associated with catalysing CE adoption in Australia will be analysed, with a special focus on understanding how Australia’s cultural and political milieu has shaped approaches to transition to circularity in the region.
