Five Solutions for the Energy Transition in Buildings
Real estate sector finds itself at a crossroads. As energy production becomes cleaner, energy efficiency alone is no longer sufficient to reduce emissions, nor does it by itself guarantee low energy costs.
This publication examines the energy transition from the perspective of buildings and presents five solutions for advancing it across the building stock. The objective is to provide the real estate sector with practical perspectives on responsible action and stimulate discussion on how incentives and policy instruments should be developed to meet the needs of the evolving energy system. The recommendations constitute a toolbox of measures rather than a formal action programme.
